“With all white flour in the UK fortified with iron, and dried fruit also being a good natural source of iron, this traditional Welsh option, when served with a glass of milk for calcium is one of our top choices. Whilst dried fruit should be avoided as a between-meal snack (due to natural concentrated sugars sticking to teeth), it is a great choice as an additional to a main meal or dessert.”
