Bank Holiday Office Closures

Office Closures

All public facing buildings will close at 5pm on Friday 3rd May 2024 and re-open on Tuesday 7th May 2024.

The majority of things that can be done in our office can also be done online. Our online forms are available in the Report It and Request It areas of the website.

Payments

The quickest and simplest way of making a payment is via our automated payment line on 0300 4560516 or you can make a payment online.

If you need us urgently at any time over the holiday period please call us on 01495 762200. 

Torfaen Customer Care Centres

The Cwmbran Customer Care Centre will close at 4:30pm on Thursday 2nd May 2024 and will re-open at 9am on Thursday 9th May 2024. 

The Pontypool Customer Care Centre will close at 4:30pm on Wednesday 1st May 2024 and will re-open at 9am on Wednesday 8th May 2024.

The Blaenavon Customer Care Centre will close at 4:30pm on Tuesday 30th April 2024 and will re-open at 9am on Tuesday 7th May 2024.

Refuse and Recycling Collections

There will be NO changes to collection days as we will be collecting waste and recycling as normal on bank holidays.

Please ensure that your waste and recycling is at the kerbside or collection point by 7am on the morning of your collection.

Household Waste Recycling Centre

The Household Waste Recycling Centre in New Inn will be open throughout the bank holiday period for the disposal of household waste.

• Monday to Saturday - 8:00am to 5:45pm
• Sunday - 9:00am to 5:.45pm

Make sure you have sorted your waste and recycling before turning up, and if you are a van or business make sure you have an up-to-date van permit.

The Steelhouse Reuse Shop

The Steelhouse Reuse Shop in New Inn will be open throughout the bank holiday period for the donation and purchase of good-quality items.

Times of opening are: 

• Monday to Sunday - 9.30am - 4.30pm

Libraries 

All libraries will be closed on Monday 6th May 2024.

Cemeteries

All Torfaen cemeteries will remain open during the bank holiday period between 9:00am and 7:00pm.

Registration Service

The Torfaen Registrar’s office will close at 16:30pm on Friday 3rd May and will re-open at 9.00am on Tuesday 7th May 2024.

Ceremonies

Ceremonies are by appointment only.

Out of Office Hours / Help in an emergency

If you need to contact the registration Service out of hours for any of the following reasons:

• an urgent issue with a ceremony due to take place imminently
• a faith burial required within 24 hours
• an urgent marriage or civil partnership (where one party is seriously ill and not expected to recover)
