Our Dietitian’s Choice
NEW for 2025!!!
"We know that Mac n Cheese is a tried and tested favourite, but here we are adding broccoli, a rich source of both Vitamin C and K, and a contributor to our 5 a Day target. This recipe uses semi skimmed milk to reduce the fat in our cheese sauce, with both the milk and cheese providing a great source of calcium for healthy bones and teeth.
What’s more, our crunchy topping is made from crushed cornflakes. Did you know that cornflakes are fortified with added nutrients including riboflavin, iron, thiamine, folic acid as well as Vitamin D? Vitamin D plays a key role in calcium absorption so important in bone health. Whilst the best source of Vitamin D will always be sunlight, we know that many pupils are spending less time playing outdoors so foods fortified with Vitamin D may be important in their diet.
With an accompaniment of salad further contributing to our pupil’s 5 a day, we think this dish will be a great hit with pupils and parents alike."
Sustainable School Meals
More Welsh Produce on our Menus - Both our semi skimmed milk used in the white sauce and our cheddar are Welsh produced, so supporting our local economy and jobs whilst reducing food miles.
