"Our turkey dinner with stuffing is a good source of quality low fat and low saturated fat protein, as well as both iron and zinc. We give our cooks a choice of vegetables to select from (never less than two), and pupils are offered both roast and boiled potatoes. Our roast potatoes are dry roasted in the oven so have no added fat but are still a firm favourite with our pupils."

Sustainable School Meals

Targetted Savings in Energy Use - Our frozen turkey joint has been swapped to fresh turkey joint reducing safe cooking time (and energy consumption) by an hour per school. We will continue to consider other swaps to reduce cooking times while ensuring safety perimeters are reached to make further energy use savings and reduce our environmental impact.
