"Our homemade Bolognese pasta bake made with both beef mince and quorn mince, along with garlic bread is a great contributor to iron and zinc in the diet. In addition, the melted cheddar cheese topping makes a substantial contribution to the calcium content of the dish. Being homemade, we can guarantee this dish is both flavoursome and contains no hidden nasties. And served with a seasonal salad, we are, as always, encouraging our pupils to reach for their 5 a Day!"

Sustainable School Meals

UK Farm Assured Standards - The main ingredient of this dish is beef mince – and we only use quality UK Red Tractor Beef Mince, supporting UK farmers whilst being reassured that this has been produced to independently inspected standards relating to treatment of the animals, food safety and traceability.

Reduced Carbon Emissions - We know that beef mince is high in greenhouse gas emissions (around 32.13 Co2e). So we tweaked our recipe and replaced 40% of the beef mince with quorn mince with a carbon footprint of just 1.29 Co2e - reducing the carbon emissions in this recipe by 39% with just this one simple change.

More Welsh Produce on Our Menus - Our cheddar is Welsh produced, so supporting our local economy and jobs whilst reducing food miles.
