Quorn and veggie bolognese served with salad and garlic bread
Why we chose this dish
Our Pupil’s Choice
"Very Tasty!" Alfie, Our Lady’s Primary
Our Dietitian’s Choice
"We are always listening to our pupils. And they have informed us that they would like to be able to opt in/opt out for a vegetarian alternative on a day-by-day basis, whilst not necessarily signing up to a 100% vegetarian menu. So why quorn and vegetable bolognese? Quorn being lower in saturated fat than beef is good for heart health and is also a good source of protein and fibre. Veggies being rich in vitamins and minerals, including iron, are a great addition to the dish. And the pasta provides carbs for slow-release energy to sustain pupils through an afternoon’s learning. In addition, we will always encourage salad as a nutritious accompaniment."
