Our Dietitian’s Choice
"We are always listening to our pupils. And they have informed us that they would like to be able to opt in/opt out for a vegetarian alternative on a day-by-day basis, whilst not necessarily signing up to a 100% vegetarian menu. So why BBQ quorn? Quorn being lower in saturated fat than beef, it is good for heart health and is also a good source of protein and fibre. Vegetables, in this case tomatoes, pepper and onions, are rich in vitamins and minerals, including iron, are a great addition to the dish. Rice provides slow-release energy to sustain pupils for the afternoon’s learning. And always aiming for that 5 a Day target, here we encourage a portion of salad as a nutritious accompaniment."

Reduced Carbon Emissions - Quorn mince reduces the carbon emissions in a dish by around 20x compared with beef mince, and that is huge!
