This year's Keep Torfaen Tidy Spring Clean starts on Wednesday 11 March.
Working in partnership with Keep Wales Tidy, five litter picking events will be taking place at the following locations:
- Wednesday 11 March, 10am-2pm, meet at Northville car park off Edlogan Way by The Olive Tree
- Friday 13 March, 10am-2pm, meet at the Cwmbran Boating Lake car park
- Monday 16 March, 10am-2pm, meet at the Cold Barn Farm Community Centre
- Thursday 19 March, 10am – 2pm, meet at the Garn Lakes car park
- Tuesday 24 March, 10am – 2pm, meet at the Halo Pontypool Leisure Centre car park by the bridge.
The locations are accessible for people with mobility issues, and you can just turn up on the day.
Litter picking equipment will be supplied but people are advised to bring gloves and sturdy footwear and dress for the weather.
Councillor Mandy Owen, Executive Member for the Environment, said: "Spring Clean is a perfect example of the Torfaen Deal in action.
“It's an opportunity for individuals and groups to improve their local environment using kit provided by the council and partners.
"68 bags of litter were collected during last year's Keep Torfaen Tidy Spring Clean events and 13 bags of recycling - let's see if we can beat it this year!"
Owen Beryshire, Keep Wales Tidy Chief Executive said: “Spring is the perfect time to get outside and show some care for those places we love. A simple litter pick can brighten a street, lift your mood, and bring people together.
“It’s a positive, practical way to meet your neighbours, enjoy the fresh air, and make a real difference. So, grab a bag, step outside, and join other litter heroes helping to keep Torfaen tidy.”
