Reminder – all waste and recycling needs to be placed out before 7am on their collection day.

Every household can put out one extra black bag waste on their first purple lidded bin collection after Christmas.

Our crews will be extremely busy over the Christmas and New Year period so if your waste or recycling is missed, please leave it out until they have been emptied.

Separate it
To help our collection crews it would be helpful if residents separate out their recycling as much as possible. This helps speed up collections because crews don’t have to sort at the kerbside.

Squash it
Squashing your recycling can help free up space in your bins and boxes.

Scrutinise it
An average of 62 per cent of waste put in skinny bins can be recycled. To reduce the amount of rubbish in your black bin, recycle any food, glass, paper, card, plastic, tins and textiles.

Please put Christmas cards in your blue cardboard bag for recycling. Unfortunately, we are unable to recycle wrapping paper.

If you have a real Christmas tree, once it’s come to the end of its life it can be taken to the Household Waste Recycling Centre to be shredded and used as compost.

Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC)
The site is open every day between 10am – 3.45pm except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day when it is closed.  Last vehicle entry to the site is 3:45pm

Make sure you have sorted your waste and recycling before turning up, and if you are a van or business make sure you have an up-to-date van permit
