Service Planning
Each year, service areas review their activities, performance measures and targets to ensure their services deliver the best outcomes; are provided within available resources; and contribute, where possible towards the objectives set out in Gwent’s Public Service Board’s Well-being Plan, the priorities of the Council’s Corporate Plan, and fulfil the Council’s statutory duties.
This planning process helps officers see how their activities contribute to the work of the council as a whole and is designed to encourage conversations across the organisation, enabling better use of resources and maximising the council’s impact on the well-being of people living and working in Torfaen.
All service areas prepare 2 key documents as follows:
A Chief Officer Statement which is produced by the Chief Officer to provide an overview of the previous year’s performance along with an insight into the challenges being faced in the year ahead, these can be viewed by clicking on the links below:
A Chief Officer Plan which is owned by the Chief Officer who ensures the plan is monitored and reported throughout the year. These plans form the basis of the council’s performance management framework and can be viewed by clicking on the service area links, as below:
