Cwmbran Futures – Pride in Place Programme
Pride in Place is a 10 year UK Government regeneration programme giving communities greater control over local investment, with Cwmbran eligible for up to £20 million.
Launched in 2023 as the Long Term Plan for Towns, it evolved into the Plan for Neighbourhoods in 2025 before becoming Pride in Place later that year.
Cwmbran Futures is the new regeneration plan to identify how the UK Government’s £20m grant for Cwmbran should be spent.

The funding will be released in stages over 10 years, starting in 2026, and will focus on revitalising local areas by way of three goals:
- Thriving Places
- Stronger Communities
- Taking back control
The plan will cover the town centre and the surrounding areas.

Public Consultation
Work is currently underway to develop the plan.
Local knowledge and information along with the views of local people who live and work in Cwmbran will inform the development of the plan and influence decisions on how the £20m investment fund is spent.
During 2024 members of the public were able to find out more about the Cwmbran Futures project and have their say about Cwmbran through a programme of public engagement activities conducted across Cwmbran which included workshops, drop- in sessions and an online survey.
Further public engagement took place between 15th September and 6th October 2025. Opportunities for the public to give their views and thoughts on what Cwmbran needs included an online survey and face to face sessions.
Cwmbran Neighbourhood Board
A Cwmbran Neighbourhood Board, made up of local residents, businesses and community groups, has been established to lead local decision‑making and delivery of the plan.
The Board works with residents, partners and Torfaen council to co‑produce and approve the plan based on the extensive community engagement carried out during 2024–25.
A 10‑year Vision and 4‑Year Investment Plan were submitted to UK Government in November 2025.
Torfaen council will support the Board and oversee the decisions being made to ensure they meet UK Government requirements.
The Board meets a minimum of 4 times a year. Board paperwork, meeting agendas and minutes are available at www.getinvolved.torfaen.gov.uk
