Do you know of a volunteer, community group or business which goes above and beyond for their community?

If so, why not nominate them for this year’s Torfaen Community and Volunteer Awards.

The awards ceremony aims to celebrate unsung heroes across a variety of different areas, including environment and sustainability, health and business and the heart of the community award – which celebrates the achievements of a community group.

To nominate an individual, business, organisation or group, visit the TVA Wales website - https://tvawales.org.uk/volunteer-awards/

Nominations close at midnight on 30 July 2023. The awards will be held in October at The Parkway Hotel in Cwmbran.

Aimi Morris, Operational Executive Officer at Torfaen Voluntary Alliance, said: “These awards are an opportunity for us to highlight the huge impact volunteering has across Torfaen. Volunteers have supported so many people within our communities, which would have been impossible to achieve had we all worked in isolation. We’re proud, thankful, and indebted to those who stepped forward.

“I hope you will join us in thanking everyone using the hashtag #TorfaenSaysThanks. If you’ve been a volunteer or benefitted from volunteering, please get nominating and sharing that news with us across social media!”

The Torfaen Community and Volunteers Awards is brought to you by Torfaen Voluntary Alliance, Aneurin Bevan UHB and Torfaen County Borough Council, and has since grown to include housing association partners, and local businesses.

If you are interested in dedicating a few hours of your time to volunteering, you can find numerous local opportunities listed on the Connect Torfaen website.
