Pontypool Civic Centre will be lit green from Monday in aid of Kidney Cancer Awareness Week.
Kidney cancer is one of the most common causes of cancer death in the UK, with around 4,600 deaths every year, which equates to 13 every day.
Running from 6th to 10th February, the awareness week looks to shine a light on the illness and encourages patients, families, carers and friends to start up a conversation about it.
Results from Kidney Cancer UK’s 2022 survey found the most common symptoms of kidney cancer include long-term pain in the back or side, blood in urine and fatigue, whilst the 4th most common symptom from the survey was no symptom.
You can join the conversation online by searching the hashtag #KCAW2023 on social media.
A free webinar about the importance of, and how to access, clinical trials, is also taking place on the 6 February at 10:30am. Click here to register.
