Going to Coleg Gwent - Pontypool Campus

Pontypool Campus offers its students an exciting range of choice in an adult and supportive environment. Whatever you choose to study, we will help you make the transition from school, support you while you study and prepare you for the next stage in your life.

Many courses will have educational visits and work placements where you can put your new acquired skills into practice. But it is not all work. Campus life will offer a range of fun things to do, many of them organised by the students themselves through the Student's Union.

Pontypool Campus offers a choice from:

  • AS/A levels
  • GNVQ/AVCE programmes
  • BTEC First and National Diplomas
  • NVQs at a variety of levels

You can also combine other qualifications, such as CLAIT and the Duke of Edinburgh's Award.

You will have a personal tutor who meets with your group to provide guidance, support, study skills and pastoral care. The tutors also assist with applicants to higher education, employment and training. There is an adviser from Careers Wales based at the campus and also a higher education adviser. The campus Student Services team is able to provide advice and guidance on a wide range of financial, travel, health and welfare issues.

The College Guide provides information about all the courses available at the six campuses of Coleg Gwent. These are Abergavenny, Crosskeys, Ebbw Vale, Newport, Pontypool and Usk. Each campus also produces a guide outlining its courses. Details of the Open Days which are held during the spring and summer terms are available in the guides or from the campus.
