Established Food Business Micro Grant

Torfaen County Borough Council has a great opportunity for established food businesses to apply for grants from £500 to £2,500 to add value to their produce, diversifying their current operations, and creating new sustainable food networks and supply chains.

Who can apply?

  • Established food businesses based in Torfaen with a minimum of 6-months trading

Criteria

Businesses will need to demonstrate how their project contributes to one or more of the following Torfaen Good Food priorities:

  1. Our Health
  2. Our Community
  3. Our Jobs
  4. Our Education
  5. Our Future

Eligible activities

We can support a range of projects including:

  • Equipment
  • Training and development
  • Subscriptions
  • Marketing
  • IT equipment

Other items may be considered

Project costs

Revenue funding only £500 - £2500

All grants require a minimum of 20% match from the applicant.

How does it work?

Those applying to be a part of this scheme will need to bring an innovative idea that supports the development of your food business and demonstrates that there are clear benefits and sustainable outcomes for the project.

You will be responsible for the management and running of the project. You will need to evidence all spend towards the project.

Application timescales

You will be required to submit an application by 9am on Monday 9th September 2024. Decisions will be made by an external panel. All projects must be completed by the 14th February 2025.
