Recycling and waste bank holiday collections

Wedi ei bostio ar Dydd Iau 27 Ebrill 2023

Our recycling and waste crews will be working as normal over the three bank holidays next month.

The first bank holiday will be on Monday 1 May, with an additional bank holiday on Monday 8 May to celebrate the King’s Coronation, and the third on Monday 29 May.

Residents are asked to leave their bins, boxes and bags out as normal all week.

The Household Waste Recycling Centre will remain open as per summer opening hours between 8am to 5.45pm on the bank holidays.

The Steelhouse reuse shop will also be open as usual on the bank holidays between 9.30am to 4.30pm.

Anyone who needs additional recycling boxes or bags can collect them from customer care centres.

You can also pick up our new Torfaen Recycles leaflet which outlines everything that can be recycled at the kerbside in Torfaen.

We need Torfaen to recycle 70 per cent of its waste by 2025, and by working together it can be achieved.

Follow the Council on Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #RaisetheRateTorfaen to find out about the changes we are making as a service to increasing recycling rates, and to learn about how you can recycle more at home.
