Parades In Torfaen will be held in the following locations:

Following the service, the parade will move off via Lowlands Road and Richmond Road, turning left onto Station Road and halting just before the junction of Ty Mynydd.
  • Pontypool – 11.45am - parade assembles on Commercial Street, Pontypool Town Centre and moves off to Pontypool Park Memorial Gates for a service and wreath laying at 12pm.

Residents are encouraged to attend and pay their respects, but to allow extra time for travel due to temporary road closures in place to accommodate the parades. A list of temporary road closures can be found on the Torfaen Council website.

Several services will also take place on Remembrance Sunday, so residents are encouraged to check their local church or parish websites and social media pages for details.

Armistice Day will follow on Tuesday 11th November, commemorating the moment the guns fell silent to mark the end of the First World War.

Those unable to attend the events in person are invited to observe the national two-minute silence at 11am.

Cllr Gaynor James, Torfaen Council’s Armed Forces Champion, said: “Remembrance is a time for reflection, gratitude and unity. These parades and services are a powerful way for our communities to come together and honour the sacrifices made by so many.”
