More than 70 per cent of adult learners passed GCSE maths and English language this week.
A total of 41 students sat the exams this summer with Torfaen Adult Community Learning - 27 maths and 14 English.
Including Rebecca Whaley, who got a B in English Language, Sianed Spiers, who got an A, and Teresa Green, who got a B in maths.
Rebecca, 37, from Cwmbran, pictured on the left, said: “You’re surrounded by people who genuinely want to improve, and that makes a difference.
“Just putting my hand up to do it and sticking with it — that’s something I’m proud of.”
Cllr Joanne Gauden, Executive Member for Economy, Skills and Regeneration, said: “Congratulations to all our adult learners who passed GCSEs this week. It takes courage to go back to learning, so it is fantastic to see so many getting the grades they set out to achieve.
