Residents reminded to put black boxes out by 7am

As part of the Council’s strategy to Raise the recycling Rate, from Monday 5 June, residents are being reminded to put black boxes out on the kerbside by 7am.

Councillor Mandy Owen, Torfaen’s Executive Member for the Environment, said: “From next Monday, residents may notice our recycling crews will be arriving earlier than usual to empty black boxes. Putting black boxes out by 7am will support crews working revised rounds and will help avoid missed collections.

“We’ve listened to feedback from both residents and crews so the black box collection rounds have been altered to make them more efficient for the crews, which will in turn improve resident satisfaction. The tweaks to rounds will give the crews more time to return containers to where they came from and to complete all assisted collections. By recycling as much as possible, as often as possible, we can all help Raise the Rate.”
