Free plant giveaways, nature talks, and workshops about how to help nature, are just a few of the activities taking place throughout The Big Green Week, which starts tomorrow, Saturday 10 June.

The Great Big Green Week, organised by environmental organisations across the United Kingdom, is a week-long event that aims to raise awareness and engage residents in activities cantered around climate action, sustainable living, and biodiversity.

Councill Mandy Owen, Executive Member for the Environment, said: “We are thrilled to be part of The Great Big Green Week and to collaborate with our residents and partners in taking meaningful steps towards a more sustainable future.

"Through these events, we aim to raise awareness about the importance of environmental conservation, promote eco-friendly practices, and inspire our community to embrace sustainable living. We believe that by working together, we can make a significant impact in reducing our carbon footprint and preserving our natural resources."

Torfaen Council encourages local businesses, schools, community organisations, and residents to actively participate in The Great Big Green Week by organising their own events and activities.
