Construction industry test centre opens

A new test centre for anyone looking to work in the construction industry has been opened by Torfaen Council.

The centre at Pontypool Community Education Centre will provide Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) cards, which are widely recognised as the standard for proving occupational competence within the construction industry.

The test costs £56, with funding options available for eligible individuals through the CELT Plus project.

The centre, which is operated by the council's Adult Community Learning service, offers booking availability from Monday to Thursday, 8:30am to 9:15pm, and on Fridays from 8:30am to 4 pm.

During the school holidays, bookings will be open between 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Thursday.

By successfully completing the CSCS card test, tradespeople can ensure they possess the necessary knowledge and skills required to carry out their work effectively and safely within construction sites.

This validation is an essential requirement for anyone seeking employment in the construction industry.
