Club Accreditation

Why Get Accredited?

If you are starting a new club/group or developing an existing one, you should think about getting accredited to your National Governing Body or local authority.

Gaining accreditation demonstrates that the club has addressed issues such as equality and child protection, giving confidence to parents who are choosing a club for their children.

Torfaen County Borough Council, Sports Development Team has introduced an accreditation scheme that recognises safe/quality clubs/groups.

As part of the accreditation programme, clubs/groups will be encouraged to establish a "school club link," clubs/groups will be given support by the Sports Development Team to achieve this.

The accreditation scheme works across all sports and community groups. Clubs and groups qualify for the accreditation providing the strict criteria in the following areas have been covered:

  • Member protection
  • Volunteer, staff and programme links
  • Club management

If you would like to register you club/ group on the accreditation scheme, please contact the Club Development Officer on 01633 628965.
