Torfaen Santa Appeal opens

Torfaen Council’s Santa Appeal returns to bring Christmas cheer to local children and young People who might otherwise go without during the festive season.

Each year, the appeal supports families who may be facing financial hardship, by collecting donations of new, unwrapped gifts for those aged 0–21. 

The appeal is hosted by the council’s social services 15+ and children's services teams, and will run from 3 November to 4 December.

Residents who wish to donate are encouraged to call the relevant phone line to receive age-appropriate gift suggestions:

  • For children aged 0–14, call 01495 742616 
  • For young people aged 15–21, call 01633 647539 

Phone lines are open Monday to Thursday, 9:00am – 4:00pm, with gifts can be dropped off at the following designated locations:

  • TYPSS Pontsychan House, 12 Old Road, NP4 7BA Tuesdays: 9:00am – 5:00pm
  • Cwmbran Library, Gwent House, Gwent Square, NP44 1XQ Monday & Tuesday: 9:00am – 5:30pm Thursday: 8:45am – 7:00pm Friday: 8:45am – 6:00pm Saturday: 8:45am – 1:00pm
  • Cwmbran Centre Management Offices, Reception, Floor 1, 17–22 The Parade (above Douglas Willis Butchers) Wednesday: 10:00am – 2:00pm
  • Civic Centre, Glantorvaen Road, Pontypool, NP4 6YN Tuesday: 10:00am – 2:30pm
  • Circulate Blaenavon, Pontypool, NP4 9RL Monday to Friday: 9:00am – 4:30pm
  • Co-star, The Threepenny Bit Community Hall, Cwmbran, NP44 4SX Mondays: 10:00am – 3:00pm

Last year the appeal saw more than 1,000 gifts donated to over 300 children and young people supported by the service.
