'Ready to Trade: Torfaen', is a free business support programme designed to help turn ideas into successful retail ventures. Aimed at aspiring entrepreneurs, makers, creatives, food producers and early-stage businesses in Torfaen, the programme to be delivered at Cwmbran Centre, provides participants with the practical skills, confidence and knowledge needed to start trading or take an existing business to the next level.
Through a combination of interactive workshops, one-to-one mentoring and a real-life trading opportunity, participants will gain hands-on experience of what it takes to succeed in a retail environment.
The programme includes four weekly workshops running from 6th August to 27th August at the Management Suite in Cwmbran Town Centre. Topics will cover identifying customers and market opportunities, pricing and profitability, selling techniques, routes to market and preparing for live trading events.
Following the workshops, businesses will benefit from tailored 1:1 mentoring support between 28th August and 18th September, helping participants refine their products, services and trading plans with expert guidance.
The programme will culminate in a public pop-up trading event on Saturday 19th September in Cwmbran Town Centre, where participants will have the opportunity to showcase and sell their products and services to shoppers in a busy town centre setting. The event offers valuable real-world trading experience, helping businesses test their offer, build confidence and engage directly with customers.
