Procurement emissions

Procurement, which relates to all the services and goods we buy, is our biggest source of carbon emissions.

We are developing a procurement decarbonisation program which aims to reduce the emissions associated with our purchases and support the supply chain to drive down their emissions.

Since 2019/20, carbon emissions from procurement have reduced by nearly 30 per cent.

What are we doing?

  • We’re working with Cardiff Council to develop a long-term procurement strategy to support businesses to reduce their emissions and ours by association.
  • Each purchase made by the council is logged in our annual carbon emissions report.
