We are in the process of decarbonising our fleet of more than 100 vehicles.
The term decarbonisation means stopping emissions of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
Since 2019/20, carbon emissions from fleet vehicles have reduced by 53 per cent.

What are we doing?
- We are transitioning fleet vehicles to low or zero carbon alternatives. Currently, 15 per cent of the council’s fleet is electric.
- We have installed a new grid sub-station at our Ty Blaen site in New Inn which will enable the council to increase its electric vehicle fleet and charging infrastructure.
- In 2023, we invested in two electric waste lorries.
- We have installed EV chargers at many of our sites and schools, which enables our fleet, commuters and the wider public to charge their vehicles.
