Torfaen Traveller Education Service provides school-based support to assist Gypsy Roma Traveller pupils and their schools.
The support includes:
- Working with families and nurseries to support children in early years education
- Supporting their transition to schools
- Working with small groups or individuals within schools
- Developing appropriate learning routes for pupils in Years 10 and 11 and in further education
- Providing resources that reflect the Traveller culture
- Raising awareness of Gypsy Traveller culture and lifestyle
- Mentoring support
Schools and families can access the service.
