Clinical Waste

Infectious Clinical Waste in a domestic setting is:

  • dressings or bandages contaminated with blood
  • needles, syringes or other sharps
  • diabetic sharps waste
  • dialysis waste

Residents are reminded that because of the risk of needle stick injuries, sharps bins should not be disposed of via the normal household refuse collection.

To arrange a collection of clinical waste please contact the Clinical Waste Helpline on 0300 123 9208 or your local GP surgery.
