School Term and Holiday Dates
School term dates make provision for 195 school days. Within these 195 days, schools are allowed to close for six days for training purposes. You should contact your child's school for information about the days on which they will close for training purposes.

In setting school term dates and holidays, Torfaen consults with its neighbouring authorities in order to achieve a consistent approach across the South East Wales area. Any proposed dates are also the subject of consultation with the various teaching unions.
