Arctic Roll is a popular school dessert, combining creamy ice cream with a soft sponge layer. By including the sponge, this dessert provides a greater contribution of nutrients such as iron and zinc than ice cream alone, while the dairy ingredients also contribute calcium, which is important for the normal development of healthy bones and teeth.
Served with a portion of fruit, this dessert helps pupils achieve one of their 5-a-day, adding valuable vitamins, minerals and fibre to the meal.

Reducing Single-Use Plastic and Increasing Recycling
As part of our commitment to reducing packaging waste, this Arctic Roll is supplied in cardboard packaging, helping to reduce the amount of plastic used across our catering service. The packaging can then be recycled through appropriate waste streams, alongside many of the other packaging materials used within our school meals service.
By selecting products with lower-impact packaging and supporting recycling wherever possible, we are taking practical steps to reduce waste and improve the sustainability of our food service.
