Spread some joy this festive season by donating to this year’s Torfaen Santa Appeal, which opened today.

The annual appeal collects new, unwrapped gifts for children and young people aged 0–21 who might otherwise miss out at Christmas.

Hosted by the council’s social services 15+ and children’s services teams, this year the appeal will run until 7 December 2026.

Residents who would like to donate are encouraged to call the relevant phone line for age-appropriate gift suggestions:

  • For children aged 0–14, call 01495 766691
  • For young people aged 15–21, call 01633 647539

Last year, the appeal saw thousands of gifts donated and distributed to more than 300 children and young people supported by the service.

Cllr Richard Clark, Torfaen Council’s Executive Member for Children, Families and Education, said: “Year after year, people and businesses across Torfaen show incredible generosity by supporting the Santa Appeal. Every gift donated is a simple gesture that can mean so much to a child or young person at Christmas.

“If you’re able to contribute this year, your donation will help us make Christmas that little bit brighter for local families who need some extra support.”
