People across the borough are being urged to take part in this year's residents' survey.

The Let's Talk: Living in Torfaen residents' survey runs from Monday 14 September until Sunday 25 October, 2026, giving residents the chance to share their views on everything from their local area and council services, to community life, well-being and local democracy.

The survey is part of the National Residents' Survey organised by the Welsh Local Government Association and is being run by many local authorities across Wales.

You can take part by visiting Get Involved Torfaen (opens in new tab), the council's consultation and engagement platform.

To ensure everyone can take part, paper copies and Easy Read versions of the survey will also be available from the Civic Centre in Pontypool, as well as from libraries in Blaenavon, Cwmbran and Pontypool.

This year's survey includes questions about community life, such as how connected people feel to their local area, whether they feel part of their community and what might encourage them to get more involved in local activities and volunteering.

The feedback will help support the aim of the Torfaen Deal to create thriving, connected communities where people can live well and feel supported.

Councillor Anthony Hunt, Leader of Torfaen Council, said: "We know that the decisions we make are stronger when they're informed by the people who live here.

"Whether you want to tell us what we're getting right, highlight what needs to improve or share your experiences of living in Torfaen, I would encourage you to take part. Many of our frontline teams and local partner organisations are also kindly helping us share this consultation with communities.

"Just ten minutes of your time can help shape future services, influence local priorities and support the ambitions of the Torfaen Deal. Every response counts, so please make sure your voice is heard."

Residents can complete the survey from 14 September to 25 October.
