All two-year-olds in Torfaen will be eligible for fully funded childcare from January 2027.
Children will be able to access 12.5 hours of free childcare a week from the term after their second birthday, as part of the Welsh Government's Flying Start programme expansion.
Parents of children aged two who don't already receive Flying Start funding - or whose children will turn two by end of this year - need to apply by October 9 if they want to start in January.
Emma Treadgold, Flying Start manager, said: "Just over 70 per cent of eligible families in Torfaen already access Flying Start-funded childcare.
"The expansion means the families of all two-year-olds will be able to benefit from 12.5 hours of childcare a week at a private nursery or childminders.
"Childcare settings support children with their development and transition into a nursery education place from the age of three, which helps them to get ready for school reception."
Children who already have a Flying Start-funded childcare place will continue as normal.
