An extra £500,000 is to be spent on targeted road improvements in the run up to winter.
The additional capital investment will be spent on a large-scale patching programme focused on sections of roads which could be susceptible to further damage during cold wet weather.
The work is in addition to the council's five-year £6.4m Better Roads resurfacing programme, which was launched last year.
Thirty-eight roads were resurfaced between 2025-2026, and 23 resurfacing schemes have been completed so far this financial year.
Broad Street in Blaenavon, Crumlin Road in Pontypool and Turberville Road in Northfield were a few of the roads resurfaced this year.
Foundry Road in Abersychan, Old Abergavenny Road in New Inn and A4043 Pontypool - Pontypool Fawr are a few of the roads due to be resurfaced by the end of the year.
Cllr Mandy Owen, Executive Member for Environment, said: "We know the condition of our roads is important to residents, which is why we are continuing to invest in improvements across the borough.
"Our teams are also taking a preventative approach this winter to reduce the impact of the cold wet weather on the network."
The Better Roads programme will see an estimated 80 roads resurfaced between 2025 and 2030.
The programme is funded by £4 million of capital investment and £2.4 million from the Welsh Government's Local Government Borrowing Initiative.
The investment followed highway condition surveys which found that, while the majority of classified roads meet national standards, a significant number of minor roads require improvement.
The Better Roads programme is being carried out alongside the council's annual highways maintenance schedule, which includes targeted improvements to key arterial routes requiring intervention.
Weekly updates on roads scheduled for resurfacing will be shared via the council’s Weekly News bulletin and social media – search #BetterRoadsTorfaen.
