An 8-year-old from Pontypool has won a competition to design a new children's library card.
Jonah Giles' design was chosen out of more than 170 entries to the Torfaen Community Hubs and Libraries competition.
His artwork, featuring an owl reading a book, with words ‘eat sleep read repeat’, will now appear on all future cards given to children up to the age of 16.
Jonah, who goes to George Street Primary School, visited the library recently to collect his new card and a £50 book token.
He said: "I like reading comics and borrowing them from the library. It feels amazing to win. I was really surprised".
His mum, Hayley Giles, said: "I'm really proud of him. The library is a fantastic resource and a lovely place for children and families to spend time together."
Councillor Peter Jones, Executive Member for Corporate Governance and Performance, said: "We were delighted by the response to the competition and the standard of entries was exceptionally high. Jonah's design stood out for its creativity and will now be seen by children across Torfaen every time they visit their local library."
Torfaen Libraries offer free membership, access to thousands of books and digital resources, and a programme of activities for children and families throughout the year.
Children and young people aged under 16 can join the library free of charge by visiting any Torfaen Community Hub or Library with a parent or guardian.
There is also still time for young readers to take part in this year's Summer Reading Challenge.
