Every year, there are more than 200 opportunities to help council teams deliver services in local communities.

Volunteering is a great way to learn new skills, meet new people and improve your health and well-being.

There are regular volunteering opportunities with the following teams:

  • Adult learning
  • Cemeteries
  • Community mentoring
  • Environmental teams
  • Libraries
  • Litter and Fly-tipping prevention
  • Play Service
  • Youth Service

How to volunteer

  • Visit Connect Torfaen (opens in new tab) for the latest volunteer opportunities. Information about the role, including location and number of hours required, will be included.
  • Complete the application form.
  • The team will consider your application and be in touch.

Some volunteering opportunities will provide training leading to qualifications.

Some may require a DBS check, but teams will be able to advise.

Providing volunteering opportunities is one of the ways the council is working more closely with local communities to improve well-being and resilience.
