Torfaen County Borough Council is inviting applications from community groups and organisations for grants of up to £10,000 via the HSG Community Grant Programme. This fund provides financial support to projects that play a vital role in supporting residents that are experiencing housing instability, at risk of homelessness or experiencing an episode of homelessness.
The HSG Community Grant Programme is aimed at locally rooted groups to support the development of early intervention and prevention solutions to tackling housing instability and homelessness.
Grants will fund early intervention, community-based activity or initiatives that complement existing services and strengthens local capacity to respond to homelessness and housing instability.
Projects must support adults 16 years of age or older.

Maximum grant: £10,000
Minimum grant: £ 1,000
Programme Period: 1st October 2026 to 31st March 2027
Who can apply?
Community groups, voluntary organisations, and local charities operating within Torfaen are encouraged to apply. Projects should demonstrate clear community benefit and meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the guidelines which can be found as part of the application pack.

Applications should be submitted using the official application form.
Please ensure you fully read the application pack to understand the requirements of the grant programme and are able to provide all documentation and details about your project.
Applications from community groups and charitable organisations will need to provide the following documentation to support progression of the application:
- A copy of your most recent accounts
- A recent bank statement (dated within the past 3 months old)
- A copy of your constitution or memorandum
- Safeguarding Policy
- Volunteer Policy
- Insurance details – within the application form

One in person session will be arranged

Deadline for applications
The deadline for submission of completed applications, including all supporting documents is 8am on Monday 17th August 2026.
Applications received after the deadline cannot be considered. Applications that remain incomplete 5 working days after the published deadline will be removed from the Panel list and cannot be considered. This includes applications where any of the required supporting documentation has not been submitted.
