MOT Testing Centre

Torfaen council has opened the doors to a brand new MOT testing centre and is offering motorists an approved, independent service at its depot in Ty Blaen, New Inn.

The council has experienced staff with a proven track record in vehicle maintenance. It currently services and maintains 450 vehicles including 190 vehicles for partner organisations.

When to book an MOT

All vehicles driven on the road must be kept in a road worthy condition. You must get an MOT test every year once your vehicle is three years old to ensure that it meets road safety and environmental standards.

You cannot drive your vehicle on the road if your MOT has expired. The only exception to this is if you have an MOT test booked and you are driving your vehicle to the test.

You can renew your MOT test up until a calendar month before it expires. The earliest date you can renew your test will be on your pass certificate.
