Have you ever considered fostering to make a profound difference in a child's life?
This Foster Care Fortnight, running from 12 to 25 May, Foster Wales Torfaen will be hosting a series of fostering events to recruit new foster carers.
This year's theme, 'The Power of Relationships', looks at the vital connections between foster carers, children, social workers, and the community, showcasing how these relationships transform children’s lives for the better.
What’s on?
On Monday 12 May, from 6pm to 7pm, join an online information session, where representatives from Foster Wales teams across Gwent will discuss fostering and answer your questions. Sign up here
This is followed by an in-person information event on Wednesday 21 May, 4pm to 7pm, at Pontypool Education Centre (The Settlement).
Come along to talk to fostering social workers and Torfaen foster carers - who will share how becoming foster carers changed their lives for the better.
This latest campaign, including additional drop-in sessions taking place during the fortnight, will also be highlighted on Torfaen Council's social media pages.
In Wales, there are more than 7,000 children in care, but only 3,800 foster families. Foster Wales is aiming to recruit an additional 800 carers by 2026.
