Play Sufficiency Assessment
This is the third time that Torfaen has carried out the Play Sufficiency Assessment in line with Welsh Government requirements. The assessment looks at a wide scope of areas linked to children’s play. This includes staffed provision, inclusion, information, parks, open spaces and countryside, as well as housing, planning and traffic initiatives. The 9 different areas within the assessment can be found here.
Torfaen is currently consulting widely on the assessment to gather a broad range of views and opinions to help shape the future action plan.
Currently, children and young people are being consulted with along with partners, the play and recreational workforce as well as elected members and town and community council. In addition to this, an online survey is currently live for the public to complete.
The full assessment and action plan will be returned to Welsh Government in March 2019. A summary of the findings and the full action plan will be published on this site.
