Schools to reopen to all pupils from September

Torfaen has today welcomed plans by the Education Minister to allow schools that can do so, to safely reopen from the first week of September, with all schools to reopen from September 14.

Storm Dennis

Last weekend we witnessed exceptional rainfall to Torfaen and the rest of Wales. Across the region rivers reached dangerously high levels and caused extensive damage. We had spent the week ahead of the storm checking and clearing culvert entrances and gulley's to ensure they were running clear and free.
