Here at Torfaen County Borough Council all employees are paid for their job responsibilities under our job evaluation policy. Offering a transparent pay and grading structure which includes enhancements of pay where your work pattern includes evening and weekend working.

Generous holiday entitlement

The minimum entitlement for all employees is 23 days per year, pro-rata for part time employees. After 5 years continuous local government service the entitlement increases to 28 days per year and after 10 years continuous local government service the entitlement increases to 31.

Bank holiday entitlement is 11 days per year.

Travel expenses

The council’s business mileage rate is 45p per mile in line with the HMRC approved mileage rate.
