Is there a former pub, village hall or shop that used to be the heart of your community? Or is at risk of closing?
If so, then you can help save it!
The UK Government is offering grants of up to £250,000 to groups to take over and run a facility in their area, including parks, post office buildings and sports clubs.
It is part of a new £150 million Community Ownership Fund to help ensure communities across Wales, England, Scotland and Northern Ireland can support and continue benefiting from the local facilities, community assets and amenities most important to them.
The match-funded grants will cover up to half of the cost, with local groups responsible of funding at least 50 per cent.
If you would like more information, sign up to one of two UK Government webinars:
- Tuesday 20th July, 3pm – 4pm
- Friday 23rd July, 10am – 11am
There are three rounds of applications – the first one closes on August 13. There will be another chance to apply in December and May, 2022.
