An appeal is being issued for the attendees of a school prom or graduation party held at the Cwrt Bleddyn hotel near Usk on Wednesday 11 August to get a PCR Covid-19 test.
Newport City Council, Monmouthshire County Council, Torfaen County Borough Council, Aneurin Bevan University Health Board and Public Health Wales have issued the appeal after a significant number of positive cases have been linked to attendance at the private event held at the hotel.
The event was a privately organised graduation party for year 11 pupils of Caerleon Comprehensive school following their GCSE results. The event was not organised by the school, but they have sent messages out to year 11 pupils urging them to get a test.
A number of after parties were held following the event, and as such the appeal also extends to anyone who attended one of those parties.
The response to the cluster is being managed by an Incident Management Team and cases will be contacted by the Gwent TTP service.
Anyone who attended these events is urged to get PCR tests as soon as possible. Attendees displaying Covid-19 symptoms are urged to self-isolate immediately and refrain from socialising.
You can book a test by calling 119, or by visiting https://gov.wales/getting-tested-coronavirus-covid-19.
