With businesses reopening in Torfaen over the next few weeks, the council is urging drivers to park safely and legally as Wales moves into another Covid-19 recovery phase.
It has been noticed that a number of vehicles are not parking according to the regulations and are causing a risk to other road users.
Councillor Mandy Owen, executive member for the environment, said: “As more businesses begin to reopen over the next few weeks and months, it’s even more important that vehicle owners are not causing a danger to pedestrians and cyclists, who are trying to adhere to social distancing, as well as other drivers.
“The council would like to remind drivers that the law has not changed and our enforcement officers are out patrolling.”
Please make sure you:
- Park safe - consider other road users when you are parking, even for short periods
- Park right - to avoid enforcement action and getting fined
- Park legal - our enforcement officers are patrolling the borough and will book those in breach of the rules
Please help us to keep the borough safe for all.
