As part of Torfaen Council’s response to Covid-19, the Skills and Employability team are offering a free, specialist employment service to residents impacted by coronavirus.
The support includes access to help and support for those faced with redundancy, looking to gain new skills, seeking a career change or preparing for work.
Cllr Gauden, Executive Member for Economy, Skills & Regeneration said ‘During these difficult times, getting into and staying in employment can seem even more challenging, but there is support out there.
‘If your employment situation is changing or you’re looking to go back to work, the council's Skills and Employability team can provide you with skills, training and career advice to help guide you back into employment.
‘We know this has been an incredibly hard time for many households and there’s a lot of work to be done in all sectors of the economy to respond to the impact of the lockdown measures implemented to control the virus.’
‘It is crucial we work with residents, and local businesses to help them gain the skills to take advantage of opportunities that will be available as we recover.’
To take the first step to new skills, complete a form online and an Employment Support Worker will contact you or for more information regarding skills and employability, call 01633 647647 or email employability@torfaen.gov.uk
