The Torfaen Libraries ‘Request & Collect’ service has proved popular since its launch at the beginning of June with almost 4,000 books now on loan, ’and over 350 collection slots allocated to happy customers from across the borough.
Here’s what some of the libraries customers have had to say:
“Great idea to be able to order library books like this”
“I am so pleased this service is now available, I’ve been shielding since March”
“I loved reading the books to my son… It was an excellent selection.”
The good news continues as the service now has a growing range of brand new stock to offer all library customers, from the latest adult fiction and non-fiction releases to an assortment of new titles for children of all ages. There’s never been a better time to use the ‘Request and Collect’ service so get in touch today on 01633 647676 or Cwmbran.library@torfaen.gov.uk.

The new booking system is working well, and we hope everyone who is using the new service is happy with it. Reading is a great way to learn new things, or escape into another world. It doesn’t matter what age you are, reading has so many benefits.”

We are following Public Health Wales guidance on reducing the risk of cross contamination by placing all books in a 72 hour quarantine prior to distribution.
When visiting the library please adhere to social distancing, and only turn up when you have a time slot. To reduce contact, your books will be ready and waiting for you on the ground floor of the library. Don’t forget to bring a bag to take your books home in.
