Torfaen Council are appealing to residents to return their annual canvass forms which were delivered through letterboxes during July.
The Leader of Torfaen Council, Cllr Anthony Hunt, said: ‘Taking part in the democratic process gives the residents of Torfaen the power to decide who makes the decisions on the issues that they care about, including the NHS, housing, education and the environment and for the first time in Wales, 16 and 17 year olds will now be able to have their say on who represents them on matters in Wales.
‘This is important, particularly as our 16 and 17 year old young people and foreign nationals are now part of the democratic process in Senedd elections, so please make sure you don’t lose your vote. Please return the form marked B by the 16th of August to have your say in the next election which will take place in May 2021.’
