Last week (Thursday 21st November) environmental volunteers who work with the council to keep Torfaen clean and green were thanked at an appreciation event.

Attendees were treated to afternoon tea and had the opportunity to network amongst themselves and other volunteer groups. Awards were handed out to community groups and individual volunteers.

Rosie Seabourne, Environment Volunteer Co-ordinator, said: “We can’t thank our volunteers enough, without them we would not be able to do as much in the borough as we do. We wanted to acknowledge this and hope everyone enjoyed the event last night.

“Volunteers spend their free time helping to make Torfaen a cleaner and greener place to live, work and visit, so we hope the people of Torfaen are as grateful to them as we are.

“We would also like to thank Caroline Morgan of Melin Homes for sponsorship of some of the awards provided at the event.”
