It is widely known that Torfaen Play Service offers a large range of play opportunities for children and families across the county borough, seven days a week.

Throughout the autumn and winter period, Torfaen Play Service is running weekly play sessions In various courts of Thornhill, allowing children to play on the doorsteps with their parents and carers supporting them.

The Play service also have seven weekly family sessions routinely taking place, from Blaenavon down to Cwmbran, giving families and children the opportunity to play in a safe spacious environment.

Torfaen Play Service Manager, Julian Davenne said, "The Play Service encourages families to participate in outdoor play activities to allow children to explore the natural elements and natures loose parts.

As part of our play sufficiency assessment, Torfaen Council fosters safe outdoor spaces for children to play. Recent consultation with children in Torfaen suggested that children preferred to play outdoors however, many children faced barriers to playing out in their community.

We want to ensure that we are providing lots of opportunity in this space and we want to encourage the whole family to take part."
